From Friday 2 until Sunday 25 October, Galerie Arsis is presenting the exhibition The Art of Connection. Four artists who are connected by family ties are showing paintings, sculptures and photography at the Zuivelplein.
Autumn is known as the season of colour. That forms a fitting backdrop for this versatile exhibition, in which two brothers and two sisters show their creative connection. The participating artists are Jeanne-Marie Hament, Hans van Beukering, Cees van Beukering and guest exhibitor Mirjam Hament.
For this exhibition, Jeanne-Marie Hament returns to her birthplace of Bergen op Zoom. The bond with her roots and the connection between people and their environment play an important role in her paintings and sculptures. Through the use of different layers and colours, she strives for harmony and balance in her work.
Amsterdam artist Hans van Beukering creates both abstract landscapes and figurative work. In his expressive paintings, colour and emotion come together in a powerful way.
Cees van Beukering from Bennekom works as a sculptor from a centuries-old traditional craft. Whilst carving, he lets the sculpture slowly emerge from the material. The classical female body forms an important source of inspiration in this process.
Guest exhibitor Mirjam Hament makes during The Art of Connection her exhibition debut as a photographer. During long walks she finds peace and inspiration in nature, which she then tries to capture in her photographs.
The exhibition will be festively opened on Saturday 3 October from 14:00 to 17:00. Interested parties are warmly welcome to view the artworks and meet the participating artists.
