Our ability to provide up-to-date visitor information becomes easier if you submit your event information/announcement correctly.
What is the ideal way:
A photo that is representative of the talk or performance or .... No text in it, not even a watermark, and of course we are allowed to use it (photographer's copyright). If it is necessary to include the photographer's name, please add this to your article.
Please submit photos as .jpg, .jpeg, or .png files (not in Word or PDF). They should be a minimum of approximately 2 MB and no larger than 10 MB. If a photo is smaller than 2 MB, we will have to undertake improvement measures, which will compromise quality.
A catchy text, not too long, whereby the editorial team reserves the right to amend it to suit our site. Not too long. For the base text, that is approximately max. ½ A4. Longer is permissible, but it turns out that the announcement is then read less effectively.
Always include: location, date and start time, and price and, if applicable, how to register or buy tickets. Also indicate whether card payments are possible or not. For multi-day events, include the start and end dates and, if applicable, on which days if it is not every day.
If there is a specific programme, you can also mention that.
Mentioning the organiser's website is generally a plus. You can then provide extensive information there that wouldn't fit on the site. We list that as a link with the article.
Please submit in Word, Pages or plain text. We can also read most other formats. NOT in PDF as this makes it difficult to extract the text.
Posters can sometimes be placed additionally, but certainly not in our header.
Sometimes an impression of the event adds value. Think of a few photos. For an exhibition, for example, to get an impression of what can be seen.
We have a monthly newsletter that goes out to approx. 700 addresses. This newsletter always goes out on the last Friday of the month. Please submit items that can be included by the Monday of that week at the latest. The editorial team selects the items that will be included in the newsletter; it is not always possible to include everything.
So please submit in good time, even for activities one or two months away. Preferably not a few days beforehand. Because then it won't be read by our thousands of website visitors, whom we are privileged to receive every week, and it won't make it into the newsletter.
Finally, check the website for the featured statements for inspiration.
Important: The editorial team reserves all rights to publish or not publish an article, to amend the text, and to include or not include it in the newsletter. The section where an event is placed is also entirely at the discretion of the editorial team. The choice of photograph(s) to be published is also at their discretion.
Submitting event information means you agree to this.
Of course, you can always contact us with your questions and comments.
