The Flemish rock band Triggerfinger is back. On Saturday 26 September at 16:00, the trio will present their new album Tarmac during a free in-store performance at specialist pop store De Waterput in Bergen op Zoom. Afterwards, there will also be a signing session.

Since the publication of Colossus In 2017, a lot happened around the band. Triggerfinger had to say goodbye to bassist and good friend Paul van Bruystegem. Singer and guitarist Ruben Block released a solo album, and drummer Mario Goossens, together with Golden Earring drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk among others, founded the band Sloper.

Featuring bassist Geoffrey Burton, known for his work with Arno and Daan, amongst others, Triggerfinger is now completely back. The songs for Tarmac were written in Belgium and Los Angeles together with producer and musician Mitchell Froom. Froom previously worked with big names such as Crowded House, Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney.

On the new album, which is released on 18 September, Triggerfinger's characteristic energy sounds once again. The band experiments extensively with instruments, electronic sounds and distorted noises, but the catchy riffs, grooving rhythms and strikingly honest lyrics are also present in abundance.

A fine example is Come Clean, in which Ruben Block sings about how exciting it can be to truly speak your feelings. With this, Triggerfinger contrasts a personal story with a time when nuanced opinions are often easily and everywhere shared.

Anyone wanting to experience Triggerfinger up close can head to De Waterput in Bergen op Zoom on Saturday 26 September. The performance and subsequent signing session have free admission.
