Once a month on a Wednesday, the De Kraaijenberg Visitor Centre hosts a children's afternoon for all primary school-aged children. Each time, a different theme will be the focus. We'll be heading outdoors and will have a variety of games and research materials. This allows every child to immerse themselves in the wondrous world of nature, regardless of their age. So, the whole family is welcome!

Outdoor fun

Even when there's nothing planned, you can have fun at the Kraaijenberg. The outdoor area is always open. Inside, there's plenty to experience on Sundays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. And from April to October, also on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Will you come along and have a good time with your friends and family?

• Age For primary school children, years 1 to 8, accompanied by an adult. (We kindly ask for a maximum of one adult per child, to avoid overcrowding). 
• Costs 
  • €2 per child, pay online.
  • Free for protectors of Brabants Landschap and members of IVN Brabantse Wal. Please use your protector number or the discount code you received from IVN. (You will be directed to the payment environment during registration, but the amount will be €0.00.)

• The activities are not intended for groups. For schools and after-school clubs, lesson packages are available. No organised activities are possible for children's parties, but you are always welcome in the Klauterwoud.

Wednesday 20 May: Insects – from irritating to interesting

Creepy-crawlies will become your new friends! Discover how special insects really are. We'll look at them up close and learn what they mean for nature. You'll investigate, compare, and help out in and around the insect garden. After this afternoon, you'll never look at an ant or a bee the same way again!

Wednesday 17 June: Dive into the exciting underwater world

What creatures are hidden in ditches and ponds? Become a real water explorer with IVN's search cards. From beautiful, slippery, and tiny water critters to surprising finds: what will you discover? Tip: wear wellies!

Wednesday 9 September: Become a true nature survivor!

How do you make a fire? What can you eat from nature? Surviving in nature is super fun and really cool! You don't have to go far for an afternoon of survival, it can be done right here in the Klauterwoud!

Wednesday 14 October: Abundant autumn

Nature is treating us: plenty of fruits, beautiful colours and animals preparing for winter. We'll go searching for and tasting autumn treasures, and discover different aspects of the changing seasons. Perhaps there will even be an autumn storm blowing through.

Wednesday 4 November: Chopping and Sawing – Get hands-on with the ranger!

Put on sturdy shoes, because today you're really going to help out in the forest. You'll learn to saw and chop using safe materials, and contribute to nature conservation. Be active and discover what the forest needs to stay healthy.
