Every year the roof comes off during JazzBoZ! There's something for everyone, young and old: there are special children's concerts, and there are many performances at De Maagd theatre and on various stages in the city centre of Bergen op Zoom. Especially remarkable: the jazz church service on Sunday morning in the Sint Gertrudiskerk on the Grote Markt. And for those who love a party: don't miss the Streetparade on Saturday afternoon. New Orleans has nothing on this!
During a May/June weekend, everyone is welcome for music and merriment in the city centre of Bergen op Zoom. In addition to an engaging mix of musical acts, the Bruynzeel Keukens JazzBoZ board also looks beyond that: how can we bring joy to as many people as possible with the festival? Young people, the elderly, those who barely leave their homes… Everyone deserves the enjoyment of a festival like Bruynzeel Keukens JazzBoZ.
Vision of the future
How does Bruynzeel Keukens JazzBoZ try to achieve inclusivity? The annual school concert for all Year 7 pupils in the municipality of Bergen op Zoom is already a fine example of reaching out to young people. But there is also a large target group beyond that. Together with Abbo Kindcentra, Bruynzeel Keukens JazzBoZ tries to get young pupils enthusiastic about music at an earlier stage, for example with the learning orchestra. For the slightly older youth, there is the upcoming Bruynzeel Keukens JazzBoZ talent stage: a place where aspiring musical talent is welcome to showcase their skills. Members of the conservatory are also involved. This talent stage is partly organised by new organisational talent.
Location: Bergen op Zoom city centre and in various theatres, cafes, etc.
