From 4 to 27 September, Arsis gallery presents the exhibition Dimensions in Dialogue, featuring work by Karin van de Looij, Anne-Marie Dagelinckx and Kees Plomp.

Three artists, each with their own visual language, meet in an exhibition in which colour, material, form and imagination are in constant dialogue with one another. The works move between the recognisable and the abstract, between tangible forms and inner worlds of experience.

Powerful colours evoke feelings and memories. Materials and structures give a work an almost tangible presence, while dreams and personal perceptions open up new realities. Sometimes the inspiration lies in daily life, sometimes in a dream, an emotion or a form that does not readily lend itself to explanation.

Just making the differences between the artists Dimensions in Dialogue into a versatile exhibition. Painting, texture and spatiality complement each other and challenge visitors to look longer. What do you see, what do you feel and what meaning do you yourself give to a work?

The artists

Karin van de Looij
Karin creates colourful abstract paintings and works with watercolour, water-mixable oil paint and acrylics, among other things. Her preference for bright colours and her sense of powerful colour combinations form the recognisable basis of her work.

Anne-Marie Dagelinckx
Anne-Marie combines craftsmanship, material and imagination. Through layered compositions, tactile structures and monumental forms, she explores the relationship between form, space and human experience.

Kees Plomp
Kees often works in series in which he explores a subject through sketches, watercolours and paintings. Reality forms the starting point, but receives a personal translation in which dreams and other realities also find a place.

Dimensions in Dialogue is van 4th to 27th September inclusive on show in Arsis gallery. An inviting encounter between three artistic worlds that reinforce, question and sometimes surprisingly closely approach each other.
