Bird of prey shows bring a medieval atmosphere to the Markiezenhof in July and August

Estimated reading time: approx. 44s

Muziekcentrum en de Stadspromenade een uitstekende locatie voor de jaarlijkse **Festival van de Zomer**. Markiezenhof in Bergen op Zoom again the scene for impressive Birds of prey shows. Van 15 July to 22 August 2026 Falconers give demonstrations with various birds of prey in a historical setting.

The shows are put on by falconers dressed in medieval costumes. During the demonstrations, birds of prey fly mere centimetres above the audience, allowing visitors to see the animals up close.

In total, around twelve birds are used during the shows. In addition to spectacular flying displays, visitors also receive background information about the animals, their habitats and eating habits. Everything shown during the demonstrations is based on the birds' natural behaviour.

Education and animal welfare are central to the bird of prey shows. The falconers are affiliated with the SVRH (Foundation for Responsible Falconry).

The demonstrations last an average of 45 minutes and take place on several Wednesdays and Saturdays in July and August. Visitors are advised to arrive on time, as reservations are not possible and full really means full.

A museum ticket for the Markiezenhof grants access to one bird of prey show session and a visit to the museum. Check the website of the Prince's Court For more information and the dates of the shows.
