The ArcheoHotspot Bergen op Zoom is organising several public archaeological activities on the weekend of Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 June:
Archaeology Tour Hidden Fortress
Discover the French siege of Bergen op Zoom in 1747 for yourself and experience it amongst the archaeological remnants of the fortifications of Bergen op Zoom!
At the ArcheoHotspot, we'll be giving a presentation on the fortifications of Bergen op Zoom: how they came about, how they worked, and why they have now disappeared. We'll also tell you what we still find during excavations. After the presentation, we'll walk to the Verborgen Vesting (Hidden Fortress), where you can experience the French siege of 1747 for yourself among the excavated archaeological remains, with the help of 3 large cinema screens!

Open Day Archaeological Depot Bergen op Zoom
Discover the soil secrets of Bergen op Zoom!
In the Archaeological Depot and ArcheoHotspot Bergen op Zoom, you can discover all the finds from Bergen op Zoom's soil and, of course, hear the story behind them. And even get hands-on with real finds!
