During this evening, we will delve into an age-old tradition inextricably linked with Bergen op Zoom: weather fishing.

The weir fishery is one of the oldest and most sustainable forms of fishing in the Netherlands, which is now only practised in the eastern part of the Oosterschelde. Get acquainted with this during this lecture 

unique craftsmanship and heritage and receive a comprehensive explanation about the history of tidal fishing.

Seafish trading has been recognised as Dutch intangible heritage since 2018.
